First Annual
Verb Fiction Contest

Rules for the First Annual Verb Fiction Contest:

  • Judged by Thisbe Nissen
  • Any unpublished story (up to 5,000 words) is eligible.
  • Winners will receive $1,000.00 and publication in VERB!
  • All finalists will be considered for publication.
  • Submissions must be postmarked on or before July 1
  • Manuscripts will not be returned.
  • Winner will be announced in October, 2006.

How to enter via snail mail:

  • Send your story with two cover sheets. The first should include only the title of your story. The second should include the title, your name, phone number, mailing address and email.
  • A $15 entry fee check made payable to Verb.
  • Mail to Verb, PO Box 2684, Decatur GA 30031

How to enter, 21-century style:

  • Pay your entry fee using a credit card here.
  • Send your story, as a word attachment to Contest2006@verb.org, and paste the text of your payment confirmation info into the body of the email.
